<div>"You've got to love life to have life, and you’ve got to have life to love life"</div><div>-Thornton Wilder, Our town.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm Sadeepa Diddeniya and my songs for the MusicStar Grand Finale is "Love the way you lie part 2"  Originally by Rihanna and  Eminem. I planned to sing this with Kavindu Sumanasena who recorded my cover song in his studio (Furnance recording studios) who is a great rapper and aka: "The Srilankan Rap God" but at some point I thought of taking out the rap and making a mashup by combining "love me like you do" by Ellie Goulding (with slight changes in the melody). Because the two songs are my personal favourites and I liked the meaning and concepts. And thought it would be good to combine the songs which have a similar concept with somewhat different meanings. The music was accompanied by an acoustic guitar and a touch of strings with sounds effects. Sithara Peiris is a professional guitarist who has been playing in events and has been performing(Jamming sessions) at Berklee College studios USA. So last but not least I would like to thank my parents and the video production team and my Best friend Theshan Dinuka Fernando who managed my production with great effort!</div><div><br></div><div>My name in full is Sadeepa Isuruni Diddeniya. I’m in a band called "The Volume" and I was in the kids orchestra at Rupavahini Cooperation (TV channel). I’m also a Sri Lankan contemporary ballet dancer in nTANDA dance school, Sri Lanka. I’ve performed in Sri Lankan Sinhala opera and drama productions, and became a YouTuber last year. One of my ambitions is to become a child psychologist and help children with special needs and to take out their hidden talents and also to become a musician.</div><div><br></div><div>As a kid my ambition was to become "a professional singer" which my father discouraged me. I’m from a family who never expected me to become an artist and I've been fighting throughout my life until this very minute of MusicStar competition. Because of the barriers in my life, art has become a beautiful pain... But I thank my ever loving mother who is always the first to believe in my talents and understand me and to my loving best friend Theshan.</div>

<div>Hi MusicStar. I'm Binoshi Silva. I'll be performing a Hindi cover song for the Grand Finale. So, my story behind the Grand Finale video is very complicated. Actually I didn't have enough time to make a creative video because of my studies. I couldn’t miss my lectures too.. That's why I did my video in a simple way. I cut a lecture and did this video. Not only that, I couldn’t find any photographer to create my video. So, I did it myself using my DSLR camera. Finally, I did it. This is the story behind my Grand Finale video.</div><div><br></div><div>I haven’t studied music as a subject for A/l's. But I participated for all the music events at our school. I also participated for many All Island Competitions and won the 1st place many times.</div><div>I have a dream to become a famous cover singer on YouTube one day and I want to create my own original tracks. I also need to sing  duets with famous singers. The most important thing is, I want to join a good vocal training class and develop my vocal power and vocal range. These are the main dreams that I have related to music. Hope you guys help me to fulfill my dreams.</div><div><br></div><div>I would like to thank my parents and my sister. They are by my side every moment and supported me throughout. I would also like to thank the MusicStar team for giving such an amazing platform for me to showcase my talent. This is the best competition that I ever saw in SriLanka. Thank you Mrs.Umara for your valuable comments and advice. Thank you everyone who voted me and supported me in various ways. I wish that this would be the starting point as the first reality online music competition in Sri Lanka. So,keep it up your good work team TalentStar and I wish all the success on your venture.</div><div><br></div><div>God bless you all!</div>

<div>We are three best friends that share a mutual passion for music since 2010. Being schooled at Musaeus College, we had the opportunity and the platform to play at every school event ever since and we literally watched each other grow with music. We follow various music genres starting from classical and cultural music to heavy metal. We go by the name Singing Potatoes, because that simply describes us. We believe we could make a difference in the music industry and to help diversify the music industry in Sri Lanka. Before introducing you to our final performance, we would like to thank each and every one of you that helped us make it to the Grand Finale and for continuously complimenting and motivating.</div><div><br></div><div>For our Grand Finale performance we chose to do a medley of two songs, Yenga Pona Raasa by A.R. Rahman and Krishna Nee Begane by Colonial Cousins. This was mainly because we wanted to do something different, and us wanting to challenge ourselves and do a 7/8 time signature cover. This cover is a pure production of us as the three of us did the arrangement, singing, playing and to recording the tracks, mix and mastering to doing the video like we did for our other covers. We tried our best to do justice to these two songs.</div><div><br></div><div>MusicStar journey has helped us improve our knowledge and ourselves, especially from the Star Judge Umara Sinhawansa and the fellow competitors. Thank you MusicStar team for continuously following up with us and ensuring that everything is clear and ready. All the best to everyone! MusicStar indeed is a bundle of surprises. Thank you for making the competition more exciting, fair and intense day by day and definitely for making us a part of it.</div><div><br></div><div>Even though the three of us are in three different streams, software engineering, business management & finance and hotel management, we plan to always meet up and do new covers and produce original songs whenever possible because we always make time for music regardless. And definitely because the world needs a small touch of the Singing Potatoes</div><div><br></div><div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Segoe UI Symbol","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Segoe UI Symbol"">Please pardon us if we have made any mistakes. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Segoe UI Symbol","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Segoe UI Symbol"">Cheers!!<o:p></o:p></span></p></div>

~ Despacito (Cover) | Nirmani Nayanathara ~ * This is a #cover song created with the combination of Original #Despacito Song Version (by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee) and the Despacito Remix (featuring Justin Bieber) Version. * A Reggae Touch is given to the Cover Song. * This is my first #Spanish song cover. Being a #Sri #Lankan #girl, using #Sinhala language as the mother tongue, I think I did my best to get familiar with the Spanish accent used in the #song along with the #rap and to pronounce the lyrics well. * I hope you'll find this interesting and give your precious vote, Thank You....! :)

<div>Hi everyone,</div><div><br></div><div>This is my submission for the Grand Finale of MusicStar, my original song called “Angels”.</div><div>With the greatest pleasure of being selected to the final, alongside with the challenge by judges to do something out of the box, I decided remake a long lost original of my own. This is a song which I wrote way back in 2013 when I kick started doing music. By the time I was so interested in English songs and have been following big names such as Enrique, One Direction, Bruno Mars and Micheal Buble. Artists as such inspired me to do an English song of my own, thus I started writing the lyrics and putting up the melody. After I finished the initial step, I did a rough track with my</div><div>then guitar and the organ, and named it as “Dance Like That”. I was so shy that I will not gain any good comments for the song, I decided to keep any expected critics hidden. Throughout the years I was longing to do the track one day with proper music as a good production, but never had the opportunity to do so.</div><div>After being selected for the final stage of Music Star, my friends suggested that I should remake this track freshly. Hence we started making so, and the music elements gave a good impression. I alongside with my production team managed to finish the production within a week, and I was totally pleased to see my years long expectation becoming a reality.</div><div><br></div><div>Ambitions :</div><div><br></div><div>I gained some publicity when I did a mashup cover for the song Shape of you with Dashmi Wijerathne & Sanjeewa De Silva. I covered most of my musical goals followed by that fame. I hope to continue to make a difference in the local music industry, to put Sri Lanka further into the map in the global music scenario and to influence people in a positive manner.</div><div><br></div><div>Interesting Facts:</div><div><br></div><div>I grew up in an ordinary family and singing was never there in my DNA. Even though I had a manifesting passion for singing and music I was challenged by one of my schoolmates that I will never be able to sing. This struck me hard and I determined that one day I will make my dream a reality. I practiced hard for years, watching tutorials from YouTube and finally brushed up my vocals to the level I currently possess. At that time I was suffering from social phobia. It made everything much harder than it was. Even though I wanted to go to a voice training class, I was held back because of my irrational fears.</div><div><br></div><div>Credits : </div><div>I would like to convey my appreciation towards the people who helped me out in my path towards the final of music star. Kasun Gomis for his magical guitar skills and giving a refreshing outcome for this song which he produced alongside with Sanjeewa De Silva. A massive thanks to Dashmi Wijerathne for her immense support by being the driving force and source of motivation towards my music career and giving her maximum into this production to perfect it beyond my expectation. Last but not least, my parents and siblings for all the support provided behind the scene.</div><div>I would like to make this an opportunity to thank the MusicStar Team for organizing an event of this scale and giving the opportunity for musician like us.</div><div>A big thanks to all the followers, supporters and for the people whom voted me through to the finals.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers!</div>

#SinhalaCover

HELLO Guys.! This song is dedicated to all of Srilankan music lovers. Hope that you will bring me to the Top level in this Contest. I promise you guys to do more amazing Things here. Keep in touch…

#SinhalaCover

This is my cover of the song "Nidi Nena" which is originally sung by Ms. Kalpana Kavindi in the nowadays popular teledrama "Deweni Inima". I first came into the public eye with a mashup that me and two of my friends did for the song Shape of you, originally sung by Ed Sheeran. We, as a team (known as Deepsounds) hope to make a positive change in the Sri Lankan music industry. I personally dream of making Sri Lanka popular among the international music crowd.

#SinhalaDuet

Ahasin Eha cover with Pavani Perera we are enthusiastic about music. I'm dreaming to become one of the best musicians in the world and I want to make SRI LANKA proud. Enjoy this cover and share your love

<div>Art, music and dances of Sri Lanka were derived from ritualistic responses to nature. Sri Lanka's earliest folk music was later influenced by the influx of Buddhism and the occupations that were done by the people and with their traditions. These songs were performed by commoners, and not merely recited by the priestly castes. The classical Sinhalese Orchestra consists of five categories of instruments. The drum is the king of local percussions instruments and without it, there will be no dance.</div><div><br></div><div>Here I am singing "amabaruwo", a song which is famous in "Siri Parakum" film. It shows Sri Lanka has a highly evolved pageantry of tradition, which has a unique array of music. Siri Parakum is a Sri Lankan Sinhala epic biographical film directed by Somaratne Dissanayake and produced by Renuka Balasooriya. The singer of this song is Mr.Saman Lenin who has a unique variation skills that Sri Lankans have.  They are using one of the Sri Lanka's traditional music instrument "udekki" in the original song but I like to make a difference with the organ. It has a part called "adaharaya".It represents How Sri Lankan people loved their culture and the traditions. It proves that music is a part of their lives.</div><div><br></div><div>Currently I'm a undergraduate at Faculty of Computing, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Malabe. My dream is to become a good musician. It means not only singing. I like to study audio engineering and mixing to improve my skills and knowledge. I think MusicStar competition has given me a huge opportunity to polish my skills and talents .</div><div><br></div><div>Now it's time to thank the people who were there with me throughout this competition. First I must thank my parents and brother for their encouragement and guidance. Secondly  I pay my sincere gratitude to my music teachers for sharing their knowledge with me. At the same time I like to thank the judges for their excellent judgment. Next a big thank goes to the crew and the staff of the Music star competition. I think this is a good platform to show the musical talents. Next, I would like to thank my friend Pramodya Dissanayaka for making the videos and supporting me throughout this competition. A very special thanks goes to all my friends who voted me in this competition. I think you all will be there with me for the final round too. Thanks for believing in me. Finally, I would like to thank everyone who helped and motivated me  in numerous ways to achieve my target.</div>
